NOTICE TO ALL HEALTH INSURANCE COMPANIES AND HEALTH CARE CENTERS AUTHORIZED TO CONDUCT BUSINESS IN CONNECTICUT, INCLUDING DENTAL AND VISION CARRIERS

CONCERNING

NETWORK ADEQUACY ANNUAL FILING TO CONNECTICUT INSURANCE DEPARTMENT

PURSUANT TO CONN. GEN. STAT. ยง38a-472f and BULLETIN NO. HC-117-19

Pursuant to Connecticut Insurance Department Bulletin No. HC-117-19, carriers are required to complete an annual filing for existing networks using the appropriate Network Adequacy Survey as the submission and file electronically. The annual filing for 2020 is to be made no later than April 1, 2020.

In light of the current COVID-19 situation, the Insurance Commissioner finds that it is in the public interest and consistent with efforts to slow the spread of the virus and minimize serious illness or death for the Connecticut Insurance Department to provide conditional regulatory relief and assistance to Connecticut licensed insurers with respect to certain regulatory filing requirements.

Therefore, for calendar year 2020, the deadline for submitting the network adequacy annual filing shall be extended from April 1, 2020 to July 1, 2020.

This extension only applies to 2020 network adequacy submissions. Following 2020, all such submissions shall continue to be filed no later than April 1st of such year pursuant to Bulletin No. HC-117-19.
